Mia Ganotice-Olis joined Wildes & Weinberg in 2021 as an Associate Attorney. She has a B.A. from the University of Florida in Political Science and Government, a J.D. from the Florida International University (FIU) College of Law, and is licensed to practice law in New York, Florida, and immigration courts across the United States. Mia is fluent in Tagalog and Ilocano, and is conversational in Spanish. She is a member of our Litigation Department, having represented detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings all over the United States prior to joining our practice.
During law school, Mia studied European Union Business Law at Université de Montpellier in France, participated in Trial Advocacy, and worked as a student attorney for the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, where she tried cases of detained individuals in removal proceedings in Miami, Florida. Mia also worked with the special division prosecuting gangs and narcotics at Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. After graduating law school, Mia served as a Judicial Clerk at the 11th Judicial Circuit in Florida and worked as a social justice fellow at the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic at FIU Law, in conjunction with Americans for Immigrant Justice. Her practice now focuses primarily on litigation, including applications for asylum both in front of USCIS and EOIR, as well as other forms of relief, including cancellation of removal. She also handles many of the firm’s complex waiver applications, BIA appeals, criminal assessments, and federal court cases. Mia is also a member of the Family Team, wherein she handles many family-based petitions, often representing clients in front of administrative agencies, including adjustment of status and naturalization applicants before USCIS.
