Wildes & Weinberg senior staff attorney, Rafael Barreto volunteered his time at CUNY/Daily News Citizenship NOW! Call-In event held at Stella and Charles Guttman Community College on 50 W. 40th Street, New York, NY.
Kudos to Rafael Barreto who gave of his time once again in order to attend CUNY/Daily News Citizenship NOW! Call-In which was held beginning April 28 – May 2, 2014. During the Call-In, experienced professionals such as Rafael, fielded questions and provided assistance to lawful permanent residents eligible for naturalization.
According to Rafael, who is now a 5 year veteran caller, “This year we were able to answer more than 10,500 calls. I personally look forward to this annual event where I volunteer my time and offer guidance to qualifying applicants in order to help them actualize their American Dream of becoming a US Citizen”.
Mr. Barreto possesses a degree as an “Abogado” (Attorney) conferred upon him by the University of La Sabana, in Bogota, Colombia. He also completed a 24-credit program at Pace University in White Plains, NY. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is a Member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Rafael is fluent in Spanish.
Rafael originally joined Wildes & Weinberg as a paralegal in July 1995 and after he was admitted to the New York State Bar he became an Associate Attorney in March 1997. Rafael possesses extensive experience in immigrant visas such as employment-based petitions, family-based petitions, extraordinary ability petitions, etc. Nonimmigrant visas such as H-1B visas for professional workers and fashion models, L-1 petitions for intra-company transferees, O-1 visas for aliens of extraordinary ability and fashion models; E-1 and E-2 visa petitions/applications treaty investors and treaty traders at U.S. Consulates worldwide; F-1 visas for students, B-1/B-2 visas for business and tourism.
