Opening for Kanye West’s Australian Tour in 2006 and co-writing, “Can’t Breathe” with Leona Lewis, Che’Nelle has made a name for herself. Her first album “Things Happen for a Reason” (2007) was certified gold status by the Recording Industry Association of Japan and won Concept Album of the Year in the Japan Gold Disc Awards. In 2012, her song “Baby I Love U” was nominated for the Japan MTV Video Music Awards.
By 2013, she secured four awards in the Japan Gold Disc Awards: Western Artist of the Year, Western Album of the Year (“Believe”), Song of the Year by Download (“Believe”), and Best 3 Western Albums. And in 2014 Che’Nelle single “Happiness” held the #1 position on iTunes for 10 weeks straight. In October of 2015, the latest release from Che’Nelle, “Fierce” challenges people to confidently be themselves, empower one another and to have fun while doing it.
