On May 17, 2011, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano announced the re-designation of Haiti for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and extended the country’s current TPS designation for 18 months—through Jan. 22, 2013. Eligible individuals who arrived up to one year after the earthquake in Haiti may now apply for TPS.
During the next 30 days, our office is pleased to offer free consultations as a courtesy to the Haitian community to determine if you qualify for this status. Contact Managing Partner Michael Wildes at michael@wildeslaw.com if you wish to set up an appointment in our Manhattan or New Jersey Offices.
