Wildes & Weinberg has learned that new rules will shortly be published regarding STEM EADs.
It is expected that this new rule will now allow international students earning degrees in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) from a U.S. school a full three years of on-the-job training. This is seven months longer than under the 2008 rule it replaces, and which has been the subject of litigation.
The new rule will take effect on May 10.
This will allow international students an additional chance to be selected in the H-1B visa lottery, which is held every April.
