The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has advised that although the current version of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification is set to expire on October 31, 2022, employers should continue to use the current form until further notice. Managing Partner Michael Wildes will announce when the new I-9 form becomes available once DHS publishes that date in a Federal Register notice.
Form I-9 is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired to work in the United States. This form must be completed by all U.S. employers and must be done for U.S. citizens as well as noncitizens.
