immigration workshop at the east harlem school

Managing Partner Michael
Wildes and Associate Attorney Amy Eisen Bakst
offered a free immigration workshop at The East Harlem School in New York City
on Tuesday evening May 7, 2013.

More than thirty people, including students, parents, and
staff gathered together to learn more about the Deferred Action for Childhood
Arrivals (DACA) program that President Obama insituted in the summer of 2012.
This program provides relief to certain undocumented young people who came to
the U.S. as children and who have pursued education or military service.
In addition, Mr. Wildes and Ms. Bakst explained the newsworthy Comprehensive
Immigration Reform plan that is currently being discussed by the various
members of our government.   As one of Wildes & Weinberg’s
bilingual employees, the EHS community welcomed Ms. Bakst’s tranlsation
of  Mr. Wildes address.

As a service to the community, these  lectures
are provided free of charge to universities, corporations, non-profit and
social organizations, other law firms, immigration municipalities, etc; their intended purpose is to increase public understanding of our
U.S. immigration laws and how to remain in compliance.  Mr. Wildes has
previously presented lectures at such noteworthy institutions as Yale
University, Yeshiva University, Pace University, Berkeley College, and
organizations such as the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Realtors,
and other Foundations.
