Managing Partner Michael Wildes returns to Yeshiva University to present a winter 2019 workshop on U.S. immigration law with a focus on life after OPT and the H-1B category, March 2019.
Michael Wildes convened an immigration seminar for Yeshiva University International Students at the Wilf and Beren Campus’ with a focus on the H-1B visa category. Since many international students inquire about how to continue working in the U.S. after their OPT ends, how to apply for U.S. Permanent Residence, and eventually how to become a U.S. citizen, Jennifer Golden, International Student and Scholar Advisor, invited Michael to return to both campus’ and address their international students on the options available to them as they prepare for the next chapter in their professional lives. In addition to being the firm’s managing partner, Michael is also an Adjunct Professor of Business Immigration Law at The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University’s Law School. Moreover, Michael is an alumni of Cardozo as is his wife, Amy. In fact, they met in the firm’s Founding Partner Leon Wildes immigration law class. According to Michael, “ Immigration law is in our children’s DNA and our two of our children will be graduating from Cardozo in May.”
In addition to serving as the firm’s Managing Partner, Michael Wildes also serves as Counsel to Lincoln Center, and several international/corporate law firms. A former Federal Prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn (1989-1993), he has testified on Capitol Hill in connection with anti-terrorism legislation and is internationally renowned for his successful representation of distinguished individuals and corporate clients. Having represented the United States government in immigration proceedings, Michael Wildes is a frequent participant on professional panels and commentator on network television and radio with regard to corporate immigration law, employer sanction work and compliance. Michael represents many performing artists, directors, writers, models, actors/actresses, athletes, race car drivers, fine artists, art dealers, curators, and literary agents. Some of his recent clients include famed artist Sarah Brightman, many of the former Miss Universes’ as well as soccer icon Pele; master Chef Jean-Georges and other talented artists. Mr. Wildes was sworn-in in January, 2019 for his third term as Mayor of Englewood, New Jersey and has served on the New Jersey Governor’s Blue Ribbon Panel on Immigration.
