Kudos to Wildes & Weinberg, P.C. Senior Partner, Leon Wildes, for continuing to be on the forefront of immigration policy.
Founded in 1960 by Leon Wildes, the firm continues to dedicate itself solely to the practice of U.S. Immigration Law. Since that time, the practice has expanded steadily as word of its outstanding achievements spread in the international community. One of Leon Wildes’ best known accomplishments was his successful representation of John Lennon in his widely publicized deportation proceedings, the circumstances of which have inspired several films and documentaries.
Most importantly, however, that case cast light on a then-murky legal area of “prosecutorial discretion” which is still being used today. A recent article in the Dallas Morning News explores how the Lennon case brought this concept to light, and its relevance to the current Deferred Action program.
According to Leon Wildes, “…we have to give thanks to John for giving us so much more than just memorable songs…his case really helped shape U.S. immigration policy. I am only too sorry that he is not alive today to see it’s full impact.”
