Wildes & Weinberg, P.C. Managing Partner Michael Wildes discusses the use of the term “holocaust” in regard to the crisis at the border on Cavuto, Fox Business Channel, July 17, 2014.
As the crisis along the US border continues and record numbers of children are now inside the United States, much thought and debate is surfacing regarding what to do with these youths. Recently, Governor Deval Patrick and Senator Patrick Leahy have linked the border crisis to the Holocaust and in particular, have referenced the turning away of the St. Louis, a ship that sailed from Germany in 1939 carrying about 900 Jewish refugees, many of whom ultimately perished in the concentration camps. Michael Wildes joined anchorwoman Elizabeth Macdonald to discuss this comparison.
As a second generation immigration lawyer, whose family members did come over to America by ship, Michael Wildes is also a former federal prosecutor and mayor. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor of Business Immigration Law at The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, a frequent commentator on network television and radio and has served on many professional panels.
