Managing Partner and Former Mayor of Englewood, New Jersey Michael Wildes provided
opening remarks at the groundbreaking Israel In World Relations mini-course
offered at New York University on March 10, 2013.
This course, which
explores the history that led to the issues currently facing Israel and the
Palestinians, and the legitimacy for each party’s claim to sovereignty, is
offered by Our Soldiers Speak in partnership with the JED Institute.
Mr. Wildes introduced presenter Richard Bass, author of the newly released
paperback, “Israel in World Relations,” as
well as Sgt. Benjamin Anthony, founder of Our Soldiers Speak, a
non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that convenes seminars and
information sessions pertaining to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Mr. Wildes spoke of his experience as a Jewish mayor of Englewood, New
Jersey from 2003 through 2010. He reminded NYU students that they are
future leaders and decision makers who have the power to not only promote
Jewish legacy, but to maintain an awareness, understanding, and importance of
the Jewish history and heritage.
